DRINKING and driving can never be condoned and hence this year’s Mercury Wine Week has again partnered with BuDDys Designated Drivers to get you home safely after tasting the hundreds of wines on show.

This year’s show special will mean you will have a designated driver taking responsibility for your road travel. BuDDys marketing director Ian Gardiner says patrons signing up for the service during Mercury Wine Week will have a monthly subscription of only R129.99 and the R100 administration fee will be waived.

They will also receive one free trip – valid only at the time of signing up to ensure they return home safely – up to 40km worth R265. Should membership be cancelled within the first three months, patrons will then become responsible for the administration fee and the cost of the trip home.
The Mercury Wine Week opens its doors at the Suncoast Casino and Entertainment on Thursday and Friday this week from 5:30pm. There are also two shows on Saturday starting at noon and 6:30pm and tickets, either through Computicket or at the door, cost R120 a person.
